2020 marks the 48th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the People’s Republic of China and the Netherlands. As a country along China's "Silk Road Economic Belt" and an important country on the "Maritime Silk Road", the Netherlands plays a role as a gateway to Europe for Chinese companies. The stable and open business environment in the Netherlands also makes it a good location for Chinese companies to explore the global market. Nowadays, with the support of the leaders of the two countries and the joint efforts of the business community, the strategic mutual trust between China and the Netherlands has been deepened, the economic and trade cooperation has been strengthened, and the Chinese investment enterprises have increased their investments in the Netherlands. Furthermore the number of Dutch products entering the Chinese market has increased substantially underscoring that the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is gaining momentum.
The Association of Chinese Investment Enterprises in the Kingdom of the Netherlands (ACIEN) was established in 2005, under the leadership of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands, with strong support of its founding members. Now ACIEN, has 75 member companies that are active in business area’s such as finance, shipping, logistics, high-tech, exhibitions, and many other areas.
ACIEN provides its members a platform that promotes cooperation between China and the Netherlands on the field of economics and trade and acts as a bridge for the establishment of successful business relationships. ACIEN has been adhering to the concept of embracing openness and cooperation thereby creating a mutual benefit for the parties involved.
Under the leadership of the ACIEN, its members actively fulfill social responsibilities to create a good image of Chinese enterprises thereby leveraging on the traditional friendship relations between China and the Netherlands. With doing this, ACIEN has made a huge contribution to the development of China - the Netherlands relations.
In the post-epidemic era with complex geopolitics, ACIEN will remain true to original aspiration and courageously rise to the forefront. With support of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy, ACIEN will further unite the Chinese enterprises by carefully listening to their opinions and actively expanding its cooperative platform. ACIEN will also proactive communicate China’s views and contribute to the further development of bilateral relations between China and the Netherlands.
